Name:

God has been doing phenomenal things in my life. I am no longer the person that I used to be; God has changed me. I have been made whole. I have been through the fire. There have been many days were things appeared to be down and very few days that looked good. God rescued me in the middle of my storm. When we call on God, he will answer us. However, there was a greater blessing in the mist of all of this. It was the relationship that He established between us. I have a real relationship with God now. Like any relationship there is a give and take. One thing I had to give was my time (there are other things but I won’t go there today). I had to take the time to study my word. That is how we get to know God; by studying his word. This Blogger shares the lessons that God has taught me.

The Widow Who Gave the Two Mites
Lesson Two

Mark 12: 41-44 (King James Version)
“And Jesus sat over against the treasury, and beheld how the people cast money into the treasury: and many that were rich cast in much. And there came a certain poor widow, and she threw in two mites, which make a farthing. And he called unto him his disciples, and saith unto them, Verily I say unto you, That this poor widow hath cast more in, than all they which have cast into the treasury: For all they did cast in of their abundance; but she of her want did cast in all that she had, even all her living.”

-Another powerful lesson that could be learned from the widow is to put all your trust in God to provide your daily needs. In the Lord’s Prayer, we pray that God will give us this day our daily bread (Matthew 6:11). Our daily bread is everything that we need to get through this day. Our clothes, shelter, food, water, and our spiritual needs. Even if we had to go a day or two without any of those things, God is able to sustain us. -The widow give the very last that she had to give. She was not worried about other financial obligations, such as food, clothing, rent. She knew that her God was able to provide for her. It was easy for the rich to give. If I had a million dollars and gave half I will be alright. On the other hand, if I had 10 dollars and gave half. Not that 5 dollars is a big deal but it is when that is all you have and you are not sure when you will have more money. This is when we trust God to provide for us. “Lord, please help me to trust that you will provide for me. So that I can give without thinking about my needs.”
