A certain Man lame from his mothers womb
(Acts 3:2)
Have we ever stopped to think about whom we are and how we got to be who we are? Have you ever considered your life?
This man who had lame ankles was carried to the Beautiful Gate. This man had not become crippled as the result of an accident or an illness. He had not fallen from a rooftop or been thrown from a horse, nor was he in a car accident. Even worse, he was born lame. He had known nothing except lameness all his life. His lameness was not a disease, but a weakness. The bones of his feet and ankles simply had never gained strength.
I can imagine this man who begged for a living, dreaming of one day doing what all of the other able-bodied men were doing. As the world was passing him by, he sat there with lame ankles. Oh yes The rest of his body had strength. He had a functioning brain. His cardiovascular system was is great condition. He did not have a psychological disorder. His upper torso was in great condition. His knees had strength. All of his phalanges were functioningHis only problem was his ankles did not receive the needed strength to make him an able-bodied independent man.
We think that just because we look normal, everything is well. We measure ourselves in the image of othersLittle do we know, the one whom we are comparing ourselves to is probably; lame from their mothers womb. We need to start measuring ourselves in the image of the one who created us. God created Man in His image . So let us walk in the image of Jesus... Jesus Christ is the visible image of the invisible God...(Heb 1:3)
In Jesus Name,
Elder Myron L. Fields
