The Word! To God Be The Glory!

Name:

God has been doing phenomenal things in my life. I am no longer the person that I used to be; God has changed me. I have been made whole. I have been through the fire. There have been many days were things appeared to be down and very few days that looked good. God rescued me in the middle of my storm. When we call on God, he will answer us. However, there was a greater blessing in the mist of all of this. It was the relationship that He established between us. I have a real relationship with God now. Like any relationship there is a give and take. One thing I had to give was my time (there are other things but I won’t go there today). I had to take the time to study my word. That is how we get to know God; by studying his word. This Blogger shares the lessons that God has taught me.

John 19: 9-11 (King James Version)
“And went again into the judgment hall, and saith unto Jesus, Whence art thou? But Jesus gave him no answer. Then saith Pilate unto him, Speakest thou not unto me? knowest thou not that I have power to crucify thee, and have power to release thee? Jesus answered, Thou couldest have no power at all against me, except it were given thee from above: therefore he that delivered me unto thee hath the greater sin.”

-These scriptures take place right before Jesus was crucified. He was sent before Pilate and Pilale told Jesus that he had the power to crucify Him and the power to release Him. Jesus’ response was that Pilate would not have any power over Him if God had not given it to him.
-Every situation we find ourselves in good or bad, especially when we feel someone has power over us, God allowed. It is important for us to remember that God has all power. There is nothing that can happen to us that God has not allowed. In Job 1 and 2, Satan had to ask God before he did anything to Job. He could not lay one hand on the righteous man of God without God’s permission. Everything that we endure could not have come upon us if God did not allow it. So regardless of what happens to us, we count it all joy. We rejoice in the fact that no matter what we go through, God would not allow us to go through without given us the power to overcome. “Lord, please help me to expect all that comes upon me. With the knowledge that nothing could happen without your permission and in every situation you have already given me the power to endure and overcome.”

The Glory of the Latter House

The glory of this latter house shall be greater than of the former, saith the LORD of hosts: and in this place will I give peace, saith the LORD of hosts. (Haggai 2:9)

Many times we experience tremendous heartache, regret, guilt and condemnation as we reflect upon our past mistakes, failures and poor choices. We often look back upon our lives and wish that we could recapture the past glory of our lives. That glory may have been lost through circumstance, disobedience or the malice of others. Yet we nurse and rehearse what would have been and could have been if we had made the right decision, done the right thing, or been in the right place at the right time.
But even as the Lord exhorted the Israelites through the prophet Haggai, He yet exhorts you today! Begin to work and rebuild your life, for He has not forsaken you! His Spirit yet abides with you! Do not be afraid! For you shall see, experience and know greater glory in your life, and experience the abundance of peace, prosperity and power. Begin to prepare yourself, for "you ain't seen nothing yet!" Get ready for the glory of the latter house!

The Psalms of Sambee

I’m still here praising you

All that I’ve done and all that I’ve been through,

I’m still here praising you.

My nights have been long; my days have been few,

I’m still here praising you.

I’m not singing a sad song, because I know you’ll come through,

I’m still here praising you.

I’m not afraid of what tomorrow may bring,
I love to laugh and I love to sing.
All of my choices
And all of my mistakes,
When I was to early or showed up late.

I’m still here praising you.

I refused to quit; I refuse to go quiet in the night,
No matter how weak I am, no matter how long the fight,

I’m still here praising you.

Can I get a witness? Is Jesus worth the praise?
Have you ever tried him? Has God ever made a way?
He has for me and it’s easy to see,

I’m still here praising you.

I praise Jesus for He is worthy all day, when I am on the right path or when choose
to stray,

My situation, never matters much to me, tears can fill my eyes,
Hope can fade away, but I can say with no hesitation,

I’m still here praising you.

The Widow Who Gave the Two Mites
Lesson Two

Mark 12: 41-44 (King James Version)
“And Jesus sat over against the treasury, and beheld how the people cast money into the treasury: and many that were rich cast in much. And there came a certain poor widow, and she threw in two mites, which make a farthing. And he called unto him his disciples, and saith unto them, Verily I say unto you, That this poor widow hath cast more in, than all they which have cast into the treasury: For all they did cast in of their abundance; but she of her want did cast in all that she had, even all her living.”

-Another powerful lesson that could be learned from the widow is to put all your trust in God to provide your daily needs. In the Lord’s Prayer, we pray that God will give us this day our daily bread (Matthew 6:11). Our daily bread is everything that we need to get through this day. Our clothes, shelter, food, water, and our spiritual needs. Even if we had to go a day or two without any of those things, God is able to sustain us. -The widow give the very last that she had to give. She was not worried about other financial obligations, such as food, clothing, rent. She knew that her God was able to provide for her. It was easy for the rich to give. If I had a million dollars and gave half I will be alright. On the other hand, if I had 10 dollars and gave half. Not that 5 dollars is a big deal but it is when that is all you have and you are not sure when you will have more money. This is when we trust God to provide for us. “Lord, please help me to trust that you will provide for me. So that I can give without thinking about my needs.”

The Widow Who Gave the Two Mites
Lesson One

Mark 12: 41-44 (King James Version)
“And Jesus sat over against the treasury, and beheld how the people cast money into the treasury: and many that were rich cast in much. And there came a certain poor widow, and she threw in two mites, which make a farthing. And he called unto him his disciples, and saith unto them, Verily I say unto you, That this poor widow hath cast more in, than all they which have cast into the treasury: For all they did cast in of their abundance; but she of her want did cast in all that she had, even all her living.”

-There are a couple of powerful lessons that can be learned from this widow. The first is that God knows all and sees all that we do. In those days, they had offering similar to how we do it today. People would walk to the alter and give their offerings. As this widow walked to give what she had to give, I am sure that no one paid any attention to her. No one could have known that she was giving all that she had. The scripture states that she “cast in all that she had, even all her living.”
-However, there was one there that knew the power of what she had given, Jesus. He told his disciples how much she had really given. Jesus told us in Matthew 6:3-4, “But when thou doest alms, let not thy left hand know what thy right hand doeth: That thine alms may be in secret: and thy Father which seeth in secret himself shall reward thee openly.” The bible does not tell how the women was rewarded. Never the less, getting Jesus’ attention is reward enough. “Lord, please help me to give from a pure heart and in secret. Whatever you put in my heart to give.”

~ The Lord Is With You ~

Have you ever been lonely or even fearful? Consider the word the Lord told Joshua: “Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go” (Joshua 1:9).The apostle Paul also understood that the Lord was with him no matter what his circumstances were. While in jail in Rome, Paul wrote a letter to the church in Philippi in which he said, I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me (Philippians 4:13). Not some things—ALL things! Paul knew that alone he could not overcome his situation, but with God’s presence and mighty power, he could accomplish great things, even in prison.Do you need to get out of debt?Do you need restoration in your relationships?Do you need God’s touch in your body?Do you need a miracle? If you answered yes to any of those questions and you’ve done all that you know to do, remember that you’re not alone. Believe God is with you. Take Him at His word and trust Him more than you trust the circumstances that surround you.

Acts 1:7 (King James Version)
“And he said unto them, It is not for you to know the times or the seasons, which the Father hath put in his own power.”

-This is what Jesus told his disciples before He ascended into heaven, when they asked Him when He would return. Only God’s knows when Jesus will return. The times and seasons of things are in His hands. There are times in our lives when we may be going through a rough season. The first thing we what to say is, “When, why, and how long? There are many factors that can determine how long we will be in a certain season. The Israelites were in the wilderness for 40 years and it was only suppose to be a 11 day journey. God was trying to instill in them that He was their God and that He would provid for them in every situation regardless of how it looked. -What ever God is trying to instill in us during our season, we need to allow His will to be done. Even when we think we have learned whatever lesson(s) God wants us to learn. We still don’t determine when our season will be over, however, we can determine within ourselves how we will go through our season. This can be done by asking God for His help. “Lord, please give me what I need to bare “through” my rough seasons manfully with joy.”
